The Galaxy S2 rumour mill appears to be grinding away nicely.

Following our report of a Samsung website that appears to point to the announcement of a Galaxy S successor on 13th February, fresh claims have emerged regarding the Galaxy S2’s exact specs.

According to Korean website Nocut news, the forthcoming device will indeed run on a dual-core processor – a 1GHz ARM Cortex A9-based Orion chip, to be precise. Alongside an alleged 1GB of RAM, that should push our beloved games along very nicely indeed.

In addition, the Galaxy S2 will boast an 8MP camera that will be capable of 1080p Full HD video recording. Such videos should look mighty fine on the device’s reported 4.3-inch Super AMOLED Plus screen, which is an improvement (depending on how big you like your phones) on the original device’s 4-inch example.

That extra screen space should be trimmed elsewhere, with the device reportedly slimming down from the original’s 9.9mm thickness to a remarkably skinny 9mm.

As with the Samsung-developed Nexus S, the Galaxy S2 will run on Android 2.3 (aka Gingerbread) out of the box, according to the report. Oh, and there’ll be NFC technology like in the aforementioned Google device, but we’re not so bothered about that right now.

How accurate is all of this speculation? We have no idea, but none of it looks implausible.
