Mid-week iOS releases: Mad Skills BMX, Disney Fish Hooks, Jack Lumber, and more

Welcome back to Pocket Gamer's round-up of the latest iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad mid-week releases.

As you all probably know by now, we produce this article each week because we're simply too busy to bring you a story on every single new game that hits the App Store.

These games have recently hit Apple's New Zealand outlet, meaning they should be available to download in the UK and US from around midnight this evening.

Random Heroes is a new action-platformer from Ravenous Games (the studio responsible for excellent Pocket Gamer Award-winning titles League of Evil and League of Evil 2).

In this new adventure, you take control of one of 15 different budding heroes and attempt to save the world across 30 levels by blasting monsters in the mush.

If you're looking for a town-building simulation and a match-three puzzler in a single pretty package, Chillingo's Puzzle Craft is worth checking out.

Your aim is to turn a small piece of land into a bustling city by crafting tools needed to farms and mine; collecting taxes and using them to pay for workers; and ensuring that you focus on expansion.

Your granny has been mercilessly killed and it's time for you to get revenge. How? By chopping down the trees that left your ageing relative flattened against the pavement.

You do this with your trusty axe and your supernatural ability to summon LumberTime, which, very much like bullet time, allows you to pull off awesome-looking slow-mo moves.

It's time to grab your BMX and your crash helmet because there are 40 different action-packed levels in this title - all of which feature steep inclines, even steeper declines, and plenty of opportunities to fall on your rump.

If you sign in to your Facebook account, you can bring your friends along for the ride, watch replays of them, and compete against their best times for a place on the game's prestigious leaderboards.

This brand-new underwater physics-puzzler stars Milo the fish and the rest of his aquatic buddies from Freshwater High. In the game, you have to master both making and popping bubbles in order to float, fall, and make your way to the end of various mazes.

Along the way, you'll have to bounce off turtles, surf whirlpools, travel through tubes, and collect apples to boost your score.

In this accelerometer-based survival game, you - unsurprisingly - tilt either your iPhone or iPad to manoeuvre several weapons and prevent the game's protagonist from being munched on by icky zombies.

There are 100 different levels to blast your way through, different bosses to overcome, and plenty of Game Center achievements to unlock.
