Six ways to get free iPhone games every day
|

The majority of iPhone apps only cost a maximum of a few dollars, but let's be honest, nothing beats a free game - especially one which originally had a price tag.

And the good news it there are a variety of websites dedicated to bringing you free iPhone apps every single day. That's right - totally free, downloadable straight from the App Store for nothing, nada, zilch.

A couple of (free) iPhone apps are also available to help you scope out what's going cheap each day.

Prepare to free up some hard drive space on your iPhone - you're about to fill it up with all the latest in free iPhone gaming.

Here's a comprehensive list of the six best places to grab your daily dose of free iPhone gaming fun.

Free App a Day

Probably the best known site for providing free apps each day, FreeAppaDay.com deals directly with developers to chop the price tags off some of the App Store's best games.

The FreeAppaDay community is now so large that the daily free app will frequently reach the #1 slot in the free app rankings in the App Store.

Sign up for the FAAD newsletter to hear about each day's free app straight to your inbox, or follow them on Twitter.

OpenFeint's Free Game of the Day

FreeGameoftheDay.com is the official OpenFeint app giveaway site. Each day an OpenFeint-enabled game is made free and featured on the site, with some great games up for grabs.

Besides subscribing to the RSS Feed or adding on Twitter, you can also download the OpenFeint Game Spotlight app for your iPhone. That way, you can download the latest free daily app straight through the OpenFeint app.

Free App Calendar

FreeAppCalendar.com
is another website dedicated to bringing us a free app every day. The games for each day are chosen by community voters on the site.

A list of over 20 apps is given, and the ones with the most votes are featured as free apps - hence, the quality of the apps on offer each day is pretty decent.

Again, there's an RSS feed to subscribe to and a Twitter account to follow.

FreeAppAlert

FreeAppAlert.com doesn't offer free apps each day - it collaborates information on all the apps that have recently dropped to zero pennies and does a daily roundup.

It also keeps tracks of all games from past days, letting you know whether they are still free or have ramped the price back up again. Keep tabs via RSS, Twitter or Facebook.

AppShopper: Free

AppShopper is great for checking out everything the App Store has to offer, but it also has a variety of filters for finding exactly what you need.

'Popular Recent Free Changes' is the one we want in this particular instance. AppShopper.com/Free lists all the latest changes to app prices which have exchanged their price tag for a nice juicy FREE sign.

If it's only games you're after, then simply change the URL to Appshopper.com/Games/Free and you're laughing.

BargainBin

Last, but by no means least, is the app BargainBin. It's a free app which lets you know which apps are going free at that moment, and also gives you the option to keep tabs on specific games.

If there's a game you're hoping will be going free at some point, BargainBin will track the app's price for you, and send a Push notification if and when it happens.

Along with keeping a watch list for you, BargainBin also keeps track of all the most popular apps in the Store, compiling a list of all the best apps which are currently going free.

You can also search free and cheap apps by specific genres and types.

There are a number of other apps similar to BargainBin available on the App Store, but a combination of clever interface, nice features and ease of use make BargainBin the best of the lot. Well worth the download.
